Terms & Conditions

Effective 1 September 2026
Applies to the Check The Menus mobile app (Android and iOS) and checkthemenus.com

These Terms govern your use of Check The Menus: the mobile app diners use to discover restaurants, and checkthemenus.com, which also lets restaurant owners create and manage a business listing. By using either, you agree to these Terms.

1. What the service does

Check The Menus is a restaurant discovery app and directory for Antigua & Barbuda. Diners can browse, search, get directions to, favourite, and review restaurants without creating an account. Restaurant owners can claim or submit a listing and manage it, reply to reviews, and see basic engagement information, through a business account created on checkthemenus.com.

2. Reviews and acceptable use

  • A review, rating, or photo you post must reflect your own genuine experience at that restaurant. Don’t post about a restaurant you haven’t visited, on someone else’s behalf, or as a business owner reviewing your own or a competitor’s restaurant.
  • Don’t post content that is unlawful, defamatory, harassing, or that discloses another person’s private information.
  • Once submitted, a review’s rating, text, and photo cannot be edited in the app. If you need a review corrected or removed, contact us with the restaurant name and the review text.
  • You can report a review you believe violates these Terms using the Report option. We review reports and may remove or keep a review at our discretion; reporting doesn’t guarantee removal.
  • By submitting a review or photo, you confirm you have the right to post it and you grant Check The Menus a license to display it in the app and on checkthemenus.com.

3. Restaurant owners

  • Business accounts, listing claims, and submissions are created and managed on checkthemenus.com, not inside the mobile app.
  • You’re responsible for the accuracy of the listing information you submit (name, address, hours, menu, photos) and for keeping it up to date.
  • A reply you post to a review is public and shown alongside that review. Replies must be professional and must not contain false, harassing, or misleading content.
  • We may remove a listing, reply, or account, or decline a submission, at our discretion — including for inaccurate information, misuse of the review or reply system, or violation of these Terms.
  • There is currently no paid plan or billing for business accounts. If that changes, pricing and billing terms will be presented before you’re charged, and these Terms will be updated first.

4. No guarantee of accuracy or availability

Listing information (hours, menu, contact details) is supplied by the restaurant or by our own directory and may be out of date or inaccurate; confirm details directly with the restaurant before relying on them. We don’t guarantee the app or checkthemenus.com will be available without interruption or error.

5. Intellectual property

The Check The Menus name, branding, and app design belong to Check The Menus. Review text and photos belong to the diner who posted them; by posting, you grant us the license described in Section 2. Listing content (name, description, photos supplied by the business) belongs to the restaurant that submitted it.

6. Limitation of liability

The service is provided “as is.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, Check The Menus is not liable for damages arising from inaccurate or outdated listing information, from a review or reply posted by another user or restaurant, or from third-party services (maps, directions, hosting) the service depends on.

7. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the service changes. Material changes will update the effective date above.

8. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Antigua and Barbuda.

9. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be sent to +1 268-774-6862 (St. John’s, Antigua) or through checkthemenus.com.
